Hello

My name is Sara. I am a student at Skagit Valley College, majoring in psychology. During my time as a student I have learned a lot about poverty, caste systems, generational poverty and trauma, and the rippling effect that is caused by an individual chronically not having their basic needs met. To say the least, it can be extremely overwhelming and discouraging to take a deep and critical look at how broken we are as a human race. This is why I chose to take an in-depth look at a possible solution to a problem that is as old as time. Poverty. I am not trying to imply that micro-financing is going to be the stand-alone solution to poverty, but I do believe it can make a huge difference to A LOT of people, and it has! People who live in extreme poverty are typically doing anything and everything they can just to survive. For the most part they are thrifty, industrious, and extremely hard-working. They just need a hand-up and micro-financing provides that!
